That girl who looks like Kate...

Craig McDean just shot the spring 07 campaign for Valentino Rock & Rose with Mona Johannesson. Looks very very familiar to a campaign Kate did (coincidently, also shot by McDean)...
pics are a bit small...

Finally Back! Happy New Years everyone!!

Shame on you. Next time you protest at a fashion show, don't carry with you a LEATHER Chanel bag...
but then again, who can resist Karl?

Cute and Eccentric meets SEXY!

OMG this is so exciting! Anna Sui's done a collection for Victoria's Secret. I used to be very very Anna obsessed... her stuff is just too quirky, different, and super cute. I've kind of grown out of that a little, but then I
saw this... I LOVE this cami!
I've never really understood why some lingerie has so much patterns and designs, I mean, it goes under your clothes. Yet, this is too cute.
This dress is very wearable. Too bad it's winter right now, so I'd have to wait awhile before I can wear it... The collection is affordable, but not cheap. ($138 for the last dress)

Oh Baby Baby

Stefano Gabbana, of Dolce & Gabbana, wants a baby! There's an article from Grazia magazine, it was very touching. He also made some comments about gay parenting and whatnot, which makes me like him a lot better, because he's so open about it even though he obviously has many people in his life who disapprove.
He's the taller one with hair.

What Morgan le Faye would look like today

It's a shame that Vivienne Westwood wasn't alive during King Arthur's time. Morgan le Faye would have been one stylish sorceress...

LOL, Kaiser Karl

I'm feeling a bit uninspired today, so here are some quotes to make you laugh, a la Karl, of course.

"I never suffered from being overweight. At the time, oversized Japaneese fashion was all the rage. Call me a fashion victim, but when the pendulum swung back to skinny-fits I simply shrunk to follow the trend."

"Yes, some people say to me you're too skinny, but never a skinny person says that to me, only people who could lose a few pounds say that."

"One should perhaps not even call it cruise collection anymore because that's limited to a big ship with middle-aged people."

During an interview, what would Karl say if Coco Chanel walked in and asked "What the f*ck are you doing with my fashion house?"
Karl: I would say, "Darling, this is no longer your business. F*ck you!"

"If I lose even half a pound, I have two holes here in the face. I think for my bones and my size, I better stay with my 60 kilo."

"My only ambition in life is to wear size 28 jeans"

“What I hate most in life are people who are not really the peach of the day but who want to be young and sexy. You can fool nobody. There is a moment when you have to accept that somebody else is younger and fresher and hotter. Life is not a beauty contest.”

He is such a hypocritical prick and he knows it, that's why I still love him...

mucho movement already

Marc by Marc Jacobs will be shown in London next year. It seems London is become a very popular place for designers to show their diffusion lines... Emporio Armani moved there this past season.
On another note, Alberta Ferretti's diffusion line, "Philosophy", will move to NY for next season.

KKarl!

Add that to Chanel, Fendi, and Lagerfeld. This man seriously does not know when to stop. The collection is going to be strongly logoed, but the prices are much more affordable than his other lines, T-shirts for 70 euro and jeans for 120-220 euro. Some sketches:

More on Prada's phone

Not 100% sure, but this may be the model that the Prada phone will be based on. It's probably going to cost an insane amount of money, and honestly if this is the model I'll pass.

Congrats to Stella

Stella had a baby girl today! Congrats to her and her boyfriend!!

Hello, Hello, Hello

Prada is designing a cell phone. No pictures yet, but the phone (in collaboration with South Korea's LG Electronics) is supposed to be the most advanced and most fashionable phone... I do hope they'll sell it in the states.

Anna and PETA

A while ago, Anna had a tofu pie thrown at her by PETA while coming out of a Chloe show. I do not support animal cruelty, but honestly PETA is way out of line. Honestly, everytime they do something like this I'm motivated to go out and buy a fur coat just to piss them off. And please, if any PETA people see this... STOP SENDING ME STUFF!!!

Romeo was oh-so-chic

At least he is in the form of Natalia Vodianova. Vogue China January 2007... Shakespeare's influence never does die, does it?

Oh when the Ads start marching in...

I usually hate it when celebrities are used, but I love this LV ad with Scarlett. It's very pinup and sweet!
Maxmara, on the other hand, I find quite disappointing. They used Vlada and Lara Stone. Vlada is simply pretty, and I never can understand Lara's appeal, but this ad just seems so immature and wrong for Maxmara. I know they're going for a younger audience, but how young?
Escada is so typically Escada. Inguna looks good (although I wish she stuck with her darker hair color).

Stella McCartney Care with Bette Frank. I'm not going to lie, Bette is absolutely perfect for the "little farm girl" role. Unfortunately for Stella, I doubt this ad is going to make anyone think "Gee, I really want to go out and buy Stella's Care now!"
And so the fun begins...

Love Love Love this shirt!

I absolutely loved the LV collection for spring, especially this shirt!!! Maybe it's the Christmas season getting to my head, because any other time of the year I would probably rather throw up than wear a shirt that says "Love" on it, but I really need to get this shirt!

Time does move fast in fashion

In the real world, it is fall/winter 2006 right now. In the fashion world, spring 2007 has just ended, and fall 07 is quickly approaching, well at least for Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel.
rest of collection here.

How much does it cost to be like Audrey?

The answer: £410,000
THat's how much the LBD Givenchy dress Audrey wore for "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was auctioned off for. That is a stunning 6 times more than the predicted price.

Costume Time

My friend's throwing a costume ball in a few weeks...
this is what I would wear if I could afford it...
Junya Watanabe dress
with the vintage Cecil Barton hat Audrey wore for My Fair Lady
What am I? I have no idea. But I like the costume.
Now off to find something I can realistically wear.....

Painting look-alikes

Johanna Stickland and Botticelli's Primavera:

Agyness Deyn and Nattier's portrait:

Mischa Barton and girls from Rembrant's painting:

Lisa Cant and Rubenss portrait of his sister:
These two aren't that similar, but I know that Ruben's portrait reminds me of someone, and I couldn't think of who else...

Fashion is true art, Harvard says so!

Ok, more like Boston, but the review was written by the Crimson. Boston's Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) is holding a fashion focused exhibit, with lots of delicious couture. If you're anywhere near MFA, I would definately recommend visiting. As opposed to other museum exhibits, this one is less parochial and focused less on one designer.
